photo of Jeff KentJeff Kent is Procter & Gamble’s Smart Platforms Technical Director for Product Supply, Engineering. With over 21 years of technical leadership and technology innovation at P&G within global business units and corporate capabilities organizations, Jeff has successfully led key corporate intrapreneurial transformations in areas such as Digital Quality Assurance, Platform Life Cycle Management, High-Speed Converting Reject & Inspection Systems, Time Synchronization Applications in Industrial Automation, Manufacturing Execution Systems, IT/OT, and Industrial IoT. In his current leadership role, he is responsible for driving a step change in capabilities, adoption and value creation from Manufacturing Intelligence, Connected Process, Equipment & Materials Assets, and Connected Operations. Jeff and his P&G team are establishing Smart Platform Systems as an extension of P&G’s already successful Platform Life Cycle Management of product, process and equipment platforms. In leading P&G’s Smart Platforms strategy for Product Supply, Jeff is organizing capabilities, applications, architectures, uses cases, work flows and people to exploit Industry 4.0 and enable P&G’s Manufacturing and Supply Network Intelligence Transformation.

Jeff started his P&G career in 1998, after 4 years as an Avionics/Smart Weapons Integration Engineer and Officer in the U.S. Air Force. He has completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, from Clarkson University in 1994 and a Master’s of Aeronautical Science in Aviation/Aerospace Management for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1997.  In 2011, he was recognized as one of the Top Leaders Under 40 by Control Engineering Magazine and has received many internal P&G innovation and technical mastery awards, most notably, the P&G Engineering’s Professional Recognition for Individual Sustained Mastery (PRISM) Award, 2014. Jeff has been awarded 7 patents in the field of Industrial Control Systems Applications and Methods from 2012 to the present.
