Argonne Chemist, Baris Key has been involved in fundamental characterization and guided synthesis studies in the energy storage field since 2006.
In 2014 he became a member of JCESR. He successfully adapted 25Mg NMR methodologies, a very challenging nucleus to work with, to magnesium-ion battery materials for the first time. Key initiated multi-institutional collaborations and complemented efforts of other teams to produce a collection of 11 papers that demonstrate the limitations, challenges, and new directions in multivalent battery research.
