Donald Siegel

Focus Area Lead, Solid Solvation Science Thrust

As Associate Professor at the University of Michigan, Donald Siegel’s contributions to JCESR focus on atomic scale modeling of multivalent and precipitation/dissolution systems. He also serves in a leadership role as a member of the JCESR Directorate. Noteworthy scientific accomplishments include: developing a percolation theory-based approach to predicting charge transport in amorphous discharge products; demonstrating the impact of electrode interfacial interactions on the electrochemical window of magnesium-electrolyte solvents; and applying Constrained-Density Functional Theory to reveal
