Edward Maginn

Lead Principal Investigator, Liquid Solvation Science Thrust

Edward Maginn is the Keough-Hesburgh Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. His research group develops and applies advanced molecular simulation methods to study the structure and thermophysical properties of charged fluids.

Maginn was a pioneer in the use of molecular simulations to investigate ionic liquids and holds several patents in the field. He is a Fellow of both the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

He serves as a Senior Editor of the Journal of Physical Chemistry and is a Trustee of the non-profit CACHE Corporation.
