He is an authority in electrolyte materials and fundamental science of interphases; high voltage non-aqueous, aqueous and hybrid electrolytes; non-flammable electrolytes; solvation-interphase correlation; and the interphase-formation mechanism model, In addition, he holds 12 patents.
