PSA Seeking Poster Judges for Symposium

The Postdoctoral Society of Argonne is seeking Argonne Research Staff as volunteers to assist in judging postdoc research posters during a special Poster Presentation Session at the Bistro 213 Cafeteria, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014.

Each judge will be assigned to evaluate posters anonymously, and all judging forms will be collected and tallied following the conclusion of the Poster Presentations Session. The three posters earning the highest average score will receive the Inaugural Argonne Postdoctoral Poster Award, along with a cash prize.

Winners will be announced during the Closing Remarks by Director Peter Littlewood at 4 p.m. in the Building 240 TCS Conference Center at the conclusion of the Symposium.

Due to the wide diversity of research ongoing at Argonne, posters will be judged on quality of presentation, appearance and on a presenter’s overall presentation skills. Postdocs have been instructed that they will be presenting their work to a general technical audience and thus we hope to encourage a high level of cross-divisional and cross-directorate participation. Review the poster judging rubric for details.

Judging should take around five minutes per poster. Those interested in judging should email Josh Bergerson (ES) at [email protected]. Even if you are not interested in judging posters, we highly encourage you to invest a few minutes and interact with the Postdocs presenting their work during the Poster Presentation Session.
