Faculty Mentor-in-Residence

The academic application season is upon us and many of you may have questions about the process, how and where to start, or what the faculty career path entails. To help answer these questions and help you grow your network, we are piloting the Faculty Mentor-in-Residence Program. Local faculty will be invited to Argonne to meet with postdocs individually, through small group discussions or by giving brown-bag seminars. The goal is to provide Argonne postdocs mentorship from those who have walked the walk!

henneOur first mentor is Walter Henne, Associate Professor of Chemistry at Governors State University. Walter received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Purdue University with a special focus in Bio-Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Biology. He performed research at Purdue as part of the Philip S. Low Research Laboratory. His current research centers on the design of medical diagnostic assays, devices and targeted chemotherapeutics. He is the author of more than 20 peer-reviewed research papers and patents.

Walter will be available to meet walk-ins this Friday, August 7th, from 10:00 AM to Noon and from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Building 201, Room 158.
