As a follow-up to the first LDRD Workshop on March 12, the Postdoctoral Society of Argonne and the Postdoctoral Program Office present a Laboratory Directed Research and Development (LDRD) Workshop, Part II, Wed., April 8, 2015, 11:45am to 1:45pm in TCS Building (240), Room 1416.

This event is open to Postdocs, supervisors and mentors interested in learning more about the LDRD program.

Lunch will be served at 11:45am with a presentation by Tom LeCompte, followed by a networking session from 12pm to 1:45pm.

Guest Speaker: Particle Physicist & Group Leader of HEP Computing, Tom LeCompte, will share his insights on the specifics of the LDRD proposal process from the point of view of the Director’s Review Committee, and will lend advice and answer questions from a reviewer’s perspective on the writing and approval process of the LDRD Program. Please send questions/ topic/ comments for Tom to Marvin Cummings ([email protected]) by March 27.

The purpose of this event is for postdocs to connect with potential collaborators and identify skill-sets / talents / knowledge / experience that will 1) strengthen the project and 2) increase the likelihood that your LDRD proposal will be funded.

Kristene “Tina” Henne is Argonne’s Postdoctoral Program Lead for the Argonne Leadership Institute. In this role, she facilitates the postdoc appointment process, postdoc career development, mentoring, advises the Postdoctoral Society of Argonne and serves as a navigator for postdoctoral issues.
