Annual Tom Braid Memorial Cross Country Run Wednesday, April 24, 2019

All, the next Argonne Running Club event will be the annual Tom Braid Memorial Cross Country Run on Wednesday, April 24th at noon (event flyer and course maps can be found here).

We will meet at building 435 (just to the east of building 446) on the south side of the APS ring.

*Both the run and walk courses will primarily be on trails which could be muddy, have standing water, fallen tree branches, twigs, etc.  Because of the trails, not wearing your best shoes is recommended. :). The course will be marked to navigate more easily.

Brief history on this event:

Tom Braid was a long-time member of the ARC and was from the Ireland/Scotland area.  He was an avid runner who grew up running cross-country over farmlands, fields, hills, etc.  Tom passed several years ago and the ARC continues to hold this XCC event in his honor.  This event is the one event of the year in which the majority of the proposed routes are purposely not on streets to keep the XCC “feel” to it.
