What a busy summer in the SECG! We were lucky to host Gaby Munoz Sanchez of the Berry Group at the University of Wisconsin Madison as a GEM Fellow in the group. Gaby’s project involved investigating synthetic routes to In-S clusters, and was mentored by Colby. Thanks for spending the summer with us Gaby, we hope to see you again soon!
After an incredibly productive year synthesizing push-pull Cu(I) photosensitizers, Jeremy Meeder left the group in August for an exciting position at Intel in Hillsboro, OR! Best of luck out in Oregon Jeremy, let us know when you’re back in the neighborhood!
And finally, we bid a fond adieu to Nik Thompson after three years of insightful and forward-looking contributions to the group. Nik thankfully isn’t going too far, up to Northwestern Chemistry as a Research Associate in the Hunter Lab. We hope to continue our collaborations and pursuing shared interests in high-resolution structural characterization of active interfaces by total X-ray scattering approaches. We’ll be in touch soon!
