A major strategic focus in our group is the fundamental study of light-induced structure with relevance to solar energy conversion in natural and artificial photosynthesis. These studies allow us to resolve primary mechanisms and design principles in natural and newly synthesized architectures. We accomplish this by a unique suite of capabilities including:
- time-resolved synchrotron X-ray techniques
- multi-dimensional EPR
- time-resolved optical spectroscopy, from the ultrafast regime to seconds
