The Evening Meeting About APRS a Great Success,

Well, last night was the first General meeting to beheld ‘off hours’ to try and accommodate those of you who don’t work at the Lab and therefore can’t attend the lunchtime meetings we have had in the past.  There were 14 in attendance to listen to the presentation on APRS presented by Dragan NN9L and Greg W9GB both from the York Radio Club.  The meeting went from 18:30 to well after 21:00 and the interest seemed to be high.  There was a good selection of equipment on display from several of us for everyone to look at and to see how easy it is to get into this mode.  Now that we’ve shown we can hold a meeting in the evening like this we need to think of some new topics to present and who is willing to present them.  Send in your suggestions and ideas for topics to [email protected] and we’ll see what we can do.  Keep an eye on this webpage for more information on upcoming events.  It was pointed out last night that our Echolink seemed to be unresponsive.  I logged into the computer at the repeater site and it seems that we can log into Echolink but can’t key up the repeater.  I plan on visiting the site at lunch today to see what’s going on.  More to follow….  Thanks to Rich N9KKF for all his help in getting this first General meeting off and running!!

FLSAH!!!!  As of this lunch hour, Echolink is back up and running.  Nothing that a good ‘REBOOT’ couldn’t fix.  Unfortunately, you can’t reboot using Remote Desktop so I had to go up to the repeater site.  Enjoy Echolink and pass the word!
