Julia Neumann has joined Heavy Elements Group as an Assistant Chemist. Julia’s previous research focused on Sorption investigations of Actinides (Cm, Am, Th, Pu) onto oxidic
mineral phases and secondary phases relevant as host rock for
a permanent nuclear waste disposal in Germany, i.e. main
components of granite (feldspars, mica) and ironoxides
(hematite). Julia specializes in Surface X-ray Diffraction (SXRD), Time-Resolved Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy (TRLFS) in
combination with microscopic techniques (in situ AFM) as well
as batch sorption techniques.
