Cleanup at Repeater Site,

This morning Rich Vitt – N9KKF and I went up to the repeater site to start cleaning our area up.  There is a cleanup going on and they are throwing out anything that seems to be abandoned and that pretty much describes what our area looked like.  We moved what we can that has value, into the new cabinet.  This cleaned up the old repeater area so that you can once again actually see the old repeater and access it.  The new cabinet is located directly across from the acting repeater for the time being for easy access.  We now need to visit the other storage area(s) and consolidate and sort through some of the rest of the club’s old treasures.  More on this as progress is made.

New cabinet partally loaded,

We cleaned what we could and tossed quiet a bit of junk.  Still, what was there pretty much filled the cabinet already.  The other board members and I will need to go through this and what we have stored elsewhere and determine what  we want to keep, what we want to toss and what we want to get rid of by other means.  Such options as a silent auction or just ebaying some of it to add to the club funds.  First we need to find all of it, get it where we have access to it and and then determine if it is of any value at all to anyone.

Old Repeater Uncovered,

The old repeater is still where it’s been for years but simply silent.  The last time we tried to bring it back on line I’m told it wouldn’t come back on line.  We now need to determine what to do with it.  The unit we are now using is scheduled to be moved  into a nice new home, air conditioned, locked up safely but where we still have access to it.

The new storage cabinet is located directly across from the repeaters for easy access.  This will probably be moved when the repeater now in use is moved into it’s new home, hopefully this spring.

I just thought I’d give you a photographic glimpse into the repeater you are all using  so you see what it looks like, it’s surroundings and some of the little progress being made.  Keep watching here for the latest developments and share this site with others who are interested.
