Bob, and all,

May I suggest the following:

1. Have more great presentations, such as your recent software controlled radio review.

2. Set up a “weather net” that gets activated during times of weather alerts, and others, that can link to the NWS to be of spotter assistance.

3. Identify local events, such as marathons, aircraft competitions, where we can be of communications assistance.

4. Form an amateur radio training course, which culminates in license tests, administered by VECs.

5. Investigate where the co-operation of The Argonne Amateur Club and the ANL emergency preparedness group now stands.

6. Rally for and make plans for the next Field Day exercise.

7. Locate and identify all the Clubs equipment, determine what is useful and move out that which is not.

8. Replace the antenna and feedline to the Clubs antenna, which is up on the tower

9. Get some exposure in the ANL news pages.

Cheers,

Dick, K9IB

Thank you for those great suggestions.

Every one of them will be on my list of things to do in the coming year.

And if anyone has anything else to add to the list please don’t be shy.

It’s not my club it is our club! And if you think we are moving in the wrong direction please let me know.

I just want to get the club back up on its feet.

Now starting with #1 We need some volunteers to put on presentations.

It can be on anything ham radio. From a project you are doing to a new radio. Even a new operating mode or software you have found that you would like to share.

It doesn’t have to be a super polished presentation. Just get up and talk about what you like and show us how it works.

If you need a computer to run it on please let me know and I will bring my laptop. Or if you have your own we can just plug it into the 50inch monitor that is in front of the room so everyone can see.

There is still time for me to reserve the visitors center like we did at the last meeting.

But I need to know soon so I can get everything setup. Otherwise our next night time meeting won’t be until January 7th.

I hope to hear from you soon.
