Congratulations to Oleg, who is the lead PI for a new DOE/BES program in the recent Quantum Information Science (QIS) initiative! The program will investigate how quantum effects influence solar energy conversion processes in nature, and focuses on the effects of coherence, which refers to how long and how strongly a particular quantum state persists. Other contributing PIs on the program include Lisa Utschig, Jens Niklas, Dave Tiede, Phil Labile (Argonne BIO), Ahren Jasper (Argonne CSE, Chemical Dynamics Group), and Peter Maurer (University of Chicago). Great job team, we are looking forward to learning about your exciting results related to QIS in natural photosynthetic systems!
